The formation of NRB marks an historic day for Integrated Data Corporation. As President and CEO, I recently founded the NRB Californians for Economic Growth Political Action Committee (PAC). This is a brand new and exciting venture for IDC and will allow all of us to participate in a more effective fashion in the political process. The dramatic results of the 2006 November election, led me to the decision to create a unified voice for our company.
NRB Californians for Economic Growth PAC is the non-partisan Federal and State political action committee of Integrated Data Corporation. The Federal PAC’s purpose is to solicit contributions from IDC employees, Board Members, IDC vendors, Consultants, Advisors, and other Corporate or personal contributors to support candidates for the Unites States Senate and House of Representatives as well as other Federal and State candidates who share our conviction and advocate a free and competitive marketplace. NRB Californians for Economic Growth PAC will advance the agenda of the nation’s 26 million small businesses to be recognized as willing and able competitors in the global marketplace. We, as Californians, need to do more to ensure that business in brought to and kept in California. For example, in the past, California has suffered a disproportionate amount of military base closures to the rest of the country, subsequently forcing companies that support these bases as well as the entire military industrial establishment to leave California. This has had a devastating effect on our economy as well as our housing markets.
The strength of IDC’s PAC lies directly in the involvement of professionals, individuals, and corporations such as us. By pooling our contributions together, we can make the voice of our industry in California and Washington even stronger.
There is strength in numbers and the NRB PAC allows us to pool our resources and influence public policy --- it’s the “squeaky wheel” theory. Our elected officials place a high priority on grassroots advocacy. All of us ---from administrative staff, directors, and executive officers --- have a stake in the future viability and competitiveness of our industry. That future is determined largely by Congress. This is why I strongly believe we must all get involved to support and defend our positions against a growing list of competing interests.
I hope you will join me as we celebrate the official kick-off of the NRB PAC. I have made my own personal contribution to NRB’s PAC and hope each one of you will do the same. It is the NRB Federal and State PAC’s goal to have everyone participate in this important program.

FACT SHEET
Political Action Committees, commonly called “PAC’s” are organizations dedicated to raising and spending money to either elect or defeat political candidates.
PACs are an important aspect of American politics and the American electoral system. Political Action Committees exist legally as a means for Corporations, trade union, etc., to make contributions to candidates for Federal office --- something corporations and trade unions are prohibited from doing directly. PACs work by raising funds from people employed by or involved with a corporation or trade union.
Under Federal Election Law, PAC’s can legally contribute $5,000 to a candidate committee per election (Primary, General and/or Special Election). They can also give up to $15,000 annually to any National Party Committee (i.e., National Republican Committee, Democratic National Committee), and $5,000 annually to any other PAC.
NRB Californians for Economic Growth PAC is a non-Partisan Federal and State political action committee of Integrated Data Corporation. The Federal PAC’s purpose is to solicit contributions from IDC employees, Board Members and IDC vendors to support candidates for the US Senate and House of Representatives as well as other federal or state candidates who share its conviction and advocate a free and competitive marketplace.

ISSUES
OF IMPORTANCE TO NRB CALIFORNIANS FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH
Modernizing
and Revamping the Small Business Administration (SBA) to
More
Efficiently Promote and Assist Small Business
NRB wants to ensure the proper funding of SBA to provide financial assistance to small business. Small businesses are critical to our economy. They employ 53% of the private work force, contribute 47% of all sales in the country and are responsible for 50% of the private gross domestic product. Yet the SBA, an agency that used to be Cabinet-level, has seen its budget cut nearly in-half over the past six years, and has fallen victim to mismanagement.
Revamping Small Business Access to Federal Contracts
Congress will open the $285 billion federal marketplace to small businesses. Small businesses won the chance to compete for overseas contracts with the Department of Defense as well as access to international contracts with the United States Agency for International Development. The goal is to reduce the current barriers and ensure small businesses have access to perform federal contracts. The current system allows large corporate giants to affect whether or not a business opportunity is opened to small business, and most often small business is forced to take the “leftover” business from these corporate giants while the federal government is forced to contend with the higher prices and less efficient delivery of innovative technology solutions from larger, less nimble large companies.
